Spring Patio Inspiration Board

I was in Anthropologie the other day and fell in love with Terai Folding Chair (and just about everything else).  It comes in multiple fabrics but this one with the green is my favorite! Here is a little inspiration board I made for a fun eclectic patio with the Terai Folding Chair as my source of design inspiration. It is a mix of color, pattern, and texture for a truly unique space!

Happy Easter Weedend

I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday weekend!  It is beautiful here in Austin, warm weather and flowers everywhere.  I had to pick this up at the local farmers' market this morning. So pretty! Now let's just hope I can keep it alive!

Favorite Space in My Place

My husband and I have a cozy little apartment that has been challenging to decorate with hand me downs and odds and ends that I find on sale at home stores. Slowly it has been coming together.  This space, part of our living room, has become my new favorite area of our home. It is a hodge podge of items and lots of color, but every time I walk by it or when I am relaxing in the living room, this area just makes me smile.

More Baby Room Love

I can't help but share with you adorable nursery rooms when I stumble across them! I love modern nurseries and this one by designer Elizabeth Sullivan is just precious.  The wall of books is a great storage alternative to a book case and it also makes a great art wall. Love this idea!  I also love the stripes on the ceiling, it is fun an unexpected!

Mason Jar Vase

My extremely sweet and wonderful husband always is surprising me with flowers, and yes I sometimes forget to water them. The picture below is the sad example of this outcome. I promise they were once so beautiful!

Truth is, the blooms were still very beautiful, so I decided to redo this flower arrangement.  My new favorite vase, a mason jar just sitting in the cabinet.

Much better I think!

Love, Love, This Rug!

I am so inspired by spring and all the beautiful spring colors popping up everywhere! This rug, I love! It makes me want to do an overhaul on my bathroom and this be the floor's centerpiece!

This rug and many, many more beautiful items can be found at one of my new favorite websites, Layla Grayce!

Fabric Screen

I came across this image today while reading through my daily blogs and just love this idea!  A fabric screen is a great way to add color and interest to your space! This is perfect if you are renting and can't paint the walls or if you like changing up the mood or design style of your space.  It is an easy DIY project that will really add to your space.

Two Great Ikea Dresser Revamps That I am In Love With!

You can also apply these ideas to old furniture that needs a face lift or even great thrift store finds!

1. Apply Your Favorite Image
This is a great example (minus the image quality, very hard to find this one!) of what to do with your Ikea bought pieces! Mary McDonald, LA based interior designer turned the simple Malm Ikea Dresser into a stunning piece of art. She photocopied her favorite wall paper and cut and glued it directly onto the dresser! You could do this with any image, favorite vacation photo, art image, or even your own art! I love this idea.

2. Create a Knock-Off: Dorothy Draper Style

This dresser adds classic elegance to any space, I just love it in the room below! You can easily get this style on an Ikea budget!

Take the simple, plain Ikea Rast Dresser (only $39.99!), add some black and gold paint and new hardware and you have a beautiful  Dorothy Draper (knock-off) dresser!
